DAY 1:
Transfer Cusco to Cloud forest
Our trip starts in Cusco City (3400 m.a.s.l), early in the morning, we are going to pick you up from you hotel in our private and well equipped vehicle. Our destination is the rain forest exuberant region where the Andes region ends to give way to the magic Amazonia. Going to surprising inter-andean valleys and beautiful country-communities.
Huacarpay wetland
We’ll visit the Huacarpay town (3,020 m.a.s.l) where we’ll go along a wetland mountain with a great diversity of local and migrating aquatic birds. Giant hummingbird (Patagonagigas), Bearded Mountaineer (Oreonympha nobilis), Cinnamon Teal (Anas cyanoptera), Puna Teal (Anas puna) and other species.
The lucre Huacarpay wethlands with its 4 permanent lakes, 1 seasonal lake and interconnecting wetlands, were recently declared a Ramsar site with an area of 1,9787085 ha. and a perimeter of 20.5 km.

While on the trip we’ll make several stops to see the mountains and to take pictures. We’ll visit the Ninamarka Chullpas (Pre-Inka time funeral places) to then go headed to Paucartambo colonial town.
We’ll go up the Acjanaco summit (3550 m.a.s.l) which is the entrance to the Manu National Park , where we’ll get our chances to see the impressing view given by the Andes Mountain chain join to the Amazonia making up magnificent forests of clouds and mountains which give way to the jungle low lands. We’ll go down through the elfin forest, till getting the cloud forest where the landscape and the diversity are characterized by the emergent trees, the gigantic ferns, bromeliads, orchids, and a great diversity of birds and mammal animals. We’ll arrived to the lodge located in San Pedro (1700 m.a.s.l) cloud forest in the afternoon.

DAY 2:
Cock of the rock - lek
Early in the morning, we’ll visit the lek of the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruvianus), from a strategic hiding place we’ll get our chances on seeing this species noisy mating display at a lek.
This activity is carried out early in the morning, as well in the afternoon when those birds are active. Along our way back to the lodge place, we’ll explore the arealooking for other animals such as the Woolly Monkey (Lagothrix lagothricha),Brown Capuchin Monkey (Cebus apella), among other fauna species.

Transfer Bus- Cloud Forest – Madre de Dios River Port /Atalaya
To four hours of travel, in the middle of Kosñipata Valley, the port is located in Atalaya town. Along our travel, we’ll go through the cloud forest (1700m.a.s.l) to hill forest giving way to the tropical valleys, where we’ll get our chances to see the variation of the diverse ecosystems.
Transfer Boat - Madre de Dios River Port /Atalaya– Rainforest Lodge
Along the two and a half hours boat ride from Atalaya Port to the lodge, we’ll get our chance on see the Pantiacolla Mountain chain, enjoying the landscape and the fauna.

DAY 3:
Macaw Clay Lick
At a fifteen minute boat-ride we’ll reach the Macaw Clay Lick Mascoitanea on the Alto Madre de Dios River bank where we’ll enjoy a noisy and colored Macaw, parrots and parakeets which come down on the most clear days to ingest the clay on a bank Blue-headed Macaw(Primolius couloni), Chestnut-fronted Macaw (Ara severus), Blue-headed parrot(Pionus menstruus), Dusky-headed parakeet (Aratinga weddellii), White-eyed parakeet (Aratinga leucophthalma), Cobalt-winged parakeet (Brotogeris cyanoptera).
This is one of the best place in the world where the Blue-headed Macaw (Primoliuscouloni) can be seen (Red List of Threatened Species IUCN -The International Union for Conservation of Nature),otherssightings such Ornate Hawk-Eagle(Spizaetus ornatus), Black Hawk-Eagle (Spizaetustyrannus), Oropendolas, Purplish Jay (Cyanocorax cyanomelas), Spixs Guan (Penelope jacquaco), Blue-throated Piping-Guan (Pipile cumanensis), among others.

We’ll go out to explore the rain-forest covered by diverse trees species, we’ll look for Saddleback Tamarin (Saguinus fuscicollis), Squirrel Monkey(Saimiri sciureus), Brown Capuchin Monkey (Cebus apella), Red Howler Monkey (Alouatta seniculus) and other diverse Amazon rainforest species.

Oxbow lake
We’ll visit Machuhuasi Oxbow Lake, which is located at 30 minutes boat ride, where we’ll have our chance to enjoy the bio-diversitywhich concentrates in places like this, looking for lakeside wildlife such Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), Social Flycatcher (Myiozetetes similis), Black-capped Donacobius (Donacobius atricapilla), Herons, Capyrabara and others amazon rainforest species.

Night Walk
We’ll enjoy a night-walk looking for insects, frogs and more, this time is when most of the mammals are active but difficult to see, besides to enjoy the rainforest by night.
